This goal-based athletic program is aimed at athletic development. Participants (ages 8-18) will receive one-on-one coaching from instructors who will help guide athletes to achieve their performance goals through specialized sports programs. Participants will have the opportunity to choose from hockey, soccer or swimming as their discipline, culminating in a session-end competition.
Note: This program is open to children and youth who are CNIB participants as well as their siblings.
Join us every Friday for a virtual meet up in the prairies with a friendly bunch of people looking to connect with others across the country! Make new connections and find friendships and enjoyable conversation. The focus is on a positive, inclusive, and safe support network of people who have experienced sight loss. Everyone is welcome. This group meets on Zoom every Friday from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Central Time.
Canadian Blind Hockey is thrilled to announce that the 2022 Canadian National Blind Hockey Tournament is returning to the Mattamy Athletic Centre in Toronto, Ontario.
The event takes place from March 24 to 27 and will include the first-ever Girls & Women’s Blind Hockey Summit, as well as a Children & Youth Multi-Sport Camp. The tournament includes Children & Youth, Low Vision & Development, and Open Division competitions, with well over 100 players registered from across Canada as well as the USA, England, and Finland.
Learn to run with a guide, learn to be a running guide, learn to ride a tandem as a pilot or athlete. Join me in '23 makes a stop in Ottawa to host a clinic on the in's and out's of running and riding as a person living with vision loss or as an interested sighted guide. Ottawa has a vibrant running and cycling community – join us to learn from experienced athletes and guides on how to become: an athlete guided or an athlete who can be the guide. The Guided Run & Ride Clinic meets at the CNIB Ottawa Community Hub on Saturday, March 25th from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
A support group for blind/partially sighted parents. From infancy to adulthood - blind mothers and fathers can learn, explore, and share their triumphs, challenges, tips and stories among peers in a supportive environment. The group meets twice monthly in order to accommodate busy schedules.
