Launched in mid 2017 by Microsoft, Seeing AI is a fantastic vision aide that narrates the world around you. Designed for the blind and low vision community, this ongoing research project harnesses the power of AI to open up the visual world and describe nearby people, text and objects. The app can read short texts, products, handwriting, documents, colours, light and even people. Rising Youth is a program that helps youth (individuals that are 30 years old or younger) fund community projects. There are three types of grants available for $250, $750, or for $1500.

Together, we will learn what the grants can be used for, brainstorm ideas for community projects. We will also learn how to fill out a successful grant application.
