The program will be delivered by BC Blind Sports facilitators.
BC Blind Sports offers a variety of inclusive and adaptive fitness programs designed specifically for individuals who are blind, partially sighted, or Deafblind. Their classes are thoughtfully structured to promote physical activity, confidence, and community connection. These classes offer a safe and inclusive space for older adults, individuals recovering from injury, or anyone seeking a low-impact fitness routine.
Program Features:
- Adapted instruction: Facilitators use clear verbal cues and guiding techniques tailored to participants with vision loss.
- Inclusive environment: Programs are open to all fitness levels and often include both seated and standing options.
- Community focus: Classes are designed to foster connection, reduce isolation, and support long-term wellness.
Each session typically includes:
- A warm-up to gently activate the muscles and joints.
- A main workout involving rhythmic movements, light resistance training, or chair aerobics.
- A cool-down and stretch period to encourage flexibility and recovery.

Seated Dance Fitness meets on the second and fourth Thursday of every month from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Pacific Time on Zoom. Zoom information will be shared after registering.
