CNIB, in partnership with graduate students from Carleton University, is looking for participants to take part in an online research study about social perceptions.

The Imagined Workplace Interactions Study aims to better understand social perceptions by exploring how people perceive others they interact with and how they feel about them after an interaction.

Your input will help researchers better understand social experiences at work and in group settings. Compensation in the form of an Amazon gift card will be provided.

To take part, you must:

  • Be Canadian citizen
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Be Comfortable using a computer and the internet
  • Have at least one year of experience working or studying in a team (paid work, volunteer work, or group coursework, either in person or online)

This study is a 120-minute time commitment and consists of two online surveys administered one week apart through a platform called Qualtrics. The first pre-experimental survey takes about 30 minutes to complete, followed by a second survey one week later that takes approximately 90 minutes to complete. Each survey must be completed in a single session.

As compensation, participants may receive up to $40 in Amazon gift cards based on how much of the study they complete. Those who complete 50% of the study (only the first survey) will receive $20 Amazon gift card, while participants who complete both surveys will receive a $40 Amazon gift card.

If you are unable to complete the surveys online, a telephone version of the survey is available upon request. Your participation is completely voluntary, and you can withdraw from the study at any time, for any reason. Your responses to these surveys will be kept confidential
