The Toronto Ornithological Club (T.O.C.) welcomes bird enthusiasts of all backgrounds, ages, and expertise levels. Whether you’re a seasoned birder or just starting out, their club fosters an inclusive environment where everyone’s passion for birds is celebrated.

The club is leading two outings for people who are blind or have low vision to learn birding by ear. There will be guides available to assist participants. You are also encouraged to bring your own sighted guide if you wish. You can attend either or both.

  • Dates: Saturday, April 25 and June 6
  • Time: 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
  • Location: We will meet at the High Park subway station. This station is fully accessible with elevators. We will walk a short distance to High Park, staying on sidewalks or trails that are accessible to the participants. An accessible washroom break will be scheduled.

If you are a beginner, we recommend that you listen to this recorded video of a webinar given last year. If you already know how to identify the common birds by ear, join us anyways, we will be sure to hear other birds.

To register, send an email to steve@torontobirding.ca or send a text message to Steve at 416 319 4784. Be sure to tell us which outing you want to join and please indicate if you require a sighted guide.

Come join a community united by a shared love for birds and the natural world!
