CNIB's annual PREP (Practical Readiness for Employment and Post-Secondary) Series gives students (grads 10-12) who are blind or have low vision an opportunity to acquire skills that are crucial for education and career success. It will include sessions on topics such employment, independent living skills, stress management, orientation and mobility, as well as what is available at the university/ college campus' in terms of disability support. Through participation, your child will also connect and build relationships with other students who have sight loss and are transitioning out of high school. We are so pleased to have our partners at Vision Loss Rehab (VLRC) and APSEA join us again this year.
CNIB will coordinate and cover the cost of transportation, accommodations, meals, and activities. All activities (including the overnight stays) will be supervised by CNIB staff. Staff will be doing some online sessions with students in late April to find out any goals that students may have. We look forward to seeing all the students and hope you decide to take advantage of this exciting opportunity
The PREP (Practical Readiness for Employment and Post-Secondary) Series runs Monday, May 11 to Thursday, May 14 in St. John's.
