CNIB Lake Joe

Join us in the Reading Room on Fridays from 10:00-10:30 a.m. Eastern Time (until June 17, 2022), where we will listen to a new short story each week, read by a member of the Lake Joe team! There will be an opportunity for a brief discussion at the end of the program. In addition, we will listen to a reading of the CNIB Lake Joe newsletter following its quarterly release.

Registration required. We kindly ask you to RSVP a minimum of 1 full business day before the start of the program. To register for this program, please RSVP through Zoom using this registration link.

LGBTQ2S+ Pride Connection
Intended for adults who are blind or partially sighted and are members of the LGBTQ2S+ community. Participants from across the country meet monthly to share experiences, listen to guest speakers, and discuss topics chosen by the group.  This group meets via Zoom web conference on the fourth Tuesday of every month from 7 to 8 p.m. Eastern Time. Advocacy "I Need to Tell you Something" Disclosure Series

As a person navigating sight loss, disclosure is the building blocks to developing self advocacy. In the “I Need to Tell you Something" Disclosure series, join Ben Akuoko, Kate Riccomini and Christopher Gordon as they provide weekly one-hour informative  sessions with various topics in the areas of disclosure concerning family, relationships, friends, customer service, employment and general public interaction. Find out whether to disclose, how much to disclose, and how to disclose effectively. This group runs via Zoom web conference every Tuesday (May 24 to June 28) from 7 to 8 p.m. Eastern Time. The Bookends Book Club

If you love books, this group is for you! This group features guest authors as well as weeks where a different genre or theme are picked. People read their choice of book on the theme and come ready to discuss. It's a great way to build your reading list and learn about what others are reading and the technology they use to access their books. This group meets via Zoom web conference every Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. Eastern Time. Call in information will be given upon registration.
