Whether you're just starting out in a cool apprenticeship, diving into skilled trades, or levelling up with continuing education, there are multiple scholarships, bursaries, and other educational awards available to people who are blind, Deafblind, or have low vision. It doesn't matter where you are on your journey – from youth to adults – a scholarship or bursary is waiting just for you.

Kelowna Seniors Peer Support Group
A peer support group for Kelowna CNIB clients aged 55+ to discuss issues relating to vision loss, and to socialize with others in the vision loss community. Guest speakers are occasionally invited to present on different topics. This peer support group meets on the third Wednesday of every month from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.at the Rotary Centre for the Arts. This program is also available over Zoom.

Volunteer Opportunities
Senior Techmate – Empowering Connections
Join CNIB’s volunteer team! We’re looking for 10 compassionate and reliable Senior Techmates (55+) who are technologically savvy to work with seniors living with vision loss from January 2026 until March 2026.
Breeder Carer – CNIB Guide Dogs
Volunteers are a critical part of our guide dog program, and we’re always in need of volunteer puppy raisers and boarders. With support from CNIB Guide Dogs staff, you would play a vital role in bringing future CNIB guide dogs into the world by caring for one of our adult dogs from 12 months of age through the end of their breeding career, as well as supporting whelping and the early socialization of puppies up to 12 weeks old.
