AdvoCamp 2026
June 4–7, 2026 | CNIB Lake Joe, Ontario
Advocamp returns to beautiful CNIB Lake Joe as an immersive, in-person experience designed by and for guide dog handlers!
AdvoCamp is CNIB’s annual event bringing together handlers from across Canada for a dynamic weekend of:
- Advocacy skill-building workshops
- Hands-on learning for guide dog teams
- Community building and peer support
- Recreation, relaxation, and Lake Joe fun
Location & Travel
AdvoCamp takes place at CNIB Lake Joe, located at 4 Joe Finley Way, MacTier, ON. Lake Joe is a fully accessible camp designed with the needs of people with sight loss and guide dog teams in mind.
Accessible shuttles are planned from Pearson International Airport and Durham College Oshawa GO station for those who require transportation to camp. Please indicate on the registration form if you would like to be picked up or dropped off at Pearson International Airport or Durham College Oshawa GO station.
Travel Subsidies
Participants who reside outside Ontario may apply for one of our travel subsidies, which cover up to 50% of travel costs to camp.
Please email a cost estimate from your travel provider, method of travel, and departure city to advocacy@cnib.ca. Travel subsidies are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
Registration
AdvoCamp welcomes current guide dog handlers, with priority given to first-time attendees. The registration fee for 2026 is $300, which includes:
- Accommodation (rooms will be shared unless a private room is required for medical reasons)
- Meals
- Workshop materials
- All recreation activities
