Learn to guide an athlete, living with vision loss! Learn to be guided, as an athlete with vision loss!

This clinic will bring together community members from the running, walking and hiking community, who are interested in learning to either gain the skills and knowledge to act as a sighted guide for athletes, living with vision, loss, or athletes in the community who have vision loss and are looking to meet new guides and learn the ropes!

This event is open to all ages and abilities, whether you are A Walker, or a runner or hiker, it is fairly simple to learn the tips and techniques on how to guide or be guided when vision loss requires that extra level of teamwork and assistance.

It is important that you register before hand so we can keep everybody updated with all the last-minute details like whether cancellations, etc.

No special equipment needed, other than appropriate clothing to do some moderate running or brisk walking, as it is also recommended to bring a clean separate pair of indoor running or walking shoes as we will be utilizing the universities, indoor track and we want to be respectful and tidy!

We all know the freedom of heading out for a run or a walk on a beautiful day along the river, or setting off on a trail to explore. Sometimes we need a little bit of teamwork to get this done, so join us for our guide clinic – and tell your friends!

I Can… Run: Guide & Athlete Training Clinic meets on Saturday, March 7 at the Saint Dennis, indoor track, part of the Toldo Lancer Centre at the University of Windsor (2555 College Ave, Windsor).
