At CNIB Guide Dogs, we raise, train and match dogs with Canadians who are blind, Deafblind, or have low vision. We also raise our voices to ensure people with sight loss have opportunities to live, work and play without barriers.
Information for Guide Dog Handlers
At CNIB Guide Dogs, we offer support for guide dog handlers across Canada, regardless of where their guide dog was trained. Through education and awareness, we are committed to ensuring social attitudes shift to universal acceptance and appreciation for guide dogs. Guide Dog Champions
Guide dogs and their handlers are allowed access to any premises to which the public would normally have access. It’s the law. Show your support for guide dog teams in your community.
Adopting a Career Change Dog as a Pet
At CNIB Guide Dogs, our dogs have four possible career streams: guide dog, buddy dog, ambassador dog, and brood/stud dog. Occasionally, a dog that is not suitable for one of our four career streams is offered to another service dog organization, or they become available for adoption as a pet dog.
