This four-part video series is designed to provide people who are blind, partially sighted, or Deafblind with the knowledge and skills to effectively advocate in their communities. Whether you’re new to advocacy or a seasoned advocate, you’ll find tips for making a positive change for yourself and others. 

In these videos, Canadians with sight loss share their own advocacy stories, explain how they did it, and how you can be a champion for change.

The most powerful changes in your community can start at home. In this video, our champions outline the top 5 tips on advocating for yourself and your needs as a person who is blind or partially sighted.

 

Top 5 Tips for Systemic Advocacy

The path to social change can be challenging, but knowledge is power. In this video, our champions provide tips for making positive changes within your community through advocacy campaigns. 

 

Top 5 Policy Maker Questions

We are ready to tell decision makers what we want, but do we know what they need from us in order to create positive change? In this video we flip the script and ask policy makers and politicians how we can successfully engage government officials to make changes that will benefit everyone. 

 

Top 5 Sight Loss Myths Busted

Myths about sight loss are pervasive, and people who are blind or partially sighted and their allies work hard to combat stereotypes and assumptions. This video tackles some of the most common myths about sight loss.
