Transportation Handbook – Québec

Main Content

Section 15 of Quebec’s Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms  says that “No one may, through discrimination, inhibit the access of another to public transportation or a public place, such as a commercial establishment, hotel, restaurant, theatre, cinema, park, camping ground or trailer park, or his obtaining the goods and services available there.”

It is illegal to deny a person access to transportation because they are blind or because they are a  guide dog handler.

The transportation handbook provides tools to help you better defend your rights by offering you possible remedies, laws to defend your rights, and examples to help you understand what discrimination might look like in a transportation setting. You may also find the general resources guide useful.
