Calling all advocates!

Main Content

A federal election is scheduled for Monday, October 21, 2019. We know technology can level the playing field for Canadians who are blind or partially sighted – but only when it is accessible, available, and affordable. The federal government needs to fund cutting-edge technology that Canadians who are blind or partially sighted want, expect and deserve.

A young man holds his white cane in the air triumphantly. The CNIB Foundation is launching an ambitious federal election campaign to get each of the main political parties to commit to putting technology in the hands of Canadians who are blind or partially sighted, but we need your help!

To realize the goal of our campaign, CNIB is looking for advocates in each of Canada's 338 electoral ridings to spread this message. Advocates will receive a variety of support from CNIB, including systemic and self-advocacy training, support from their regional team, and an opportunity to help influence public policy by participating in letter writing campaigns, town halls, and information sharing!

We're looking for Canadians who are blind or partially sighted, those with experience in disability rights and advocacy, and students! If you're interested in becoming an advocate in your riding, contact us at advocacy@cnib.ca.
