Jane Muir Savidant is an accomplished business leader, strategist, and volunteer with more than 35 years of experience in financial communications, public and government relations, and governance. She is the founder of Result Communications Inc., where she served as President for 30 years, producing hundreds of annual reports, investor presentations, and communication strategies for organizations across North America and Europe. Following the acquisition of her firm by Hill & Knowlton Strategies, Jane continued as General Manager and Senior Consultant until 2010.
Jane became part of the CNIB community in 2017 and joined CNIB’s National Board of Directors in 2018. She has served on both the Governance and Strategy Committees and previously chaired the Governance Committee. In 2025, she was elected Chair of CNIB’s National Board of Directors.
Beyond her professional career, Jane has devoted decades of leadership to the not-for-profit sector. She has held volunteer board roles with the Calgary YMCA (as Board Chair), WinSport Canada, and the Calgary Women’s Emergency Shelter, among others.
Jane brings her lived experience with sight loss to her role as Chair, along with her deep belief in CNIB’s mission to break down barriers and build a more inclusive and accessible Canada. She is passionate about supporting CNIB’s The Way Forward strategic plan, strengthening governance, and helping to expand opportunities for programs such as CNIB Guide Dogs.
Jane is a graduate of Carleton University, where she earned a B.A. in English and Journalism. She believes strongly that leadership is about collaboration, clarity, and courage. As Board Chair, Jane is committed to ensuring CNIB continues to be a place where diverse voices are heard, barriers are challenged, and communities unite around a shared vision of inclusion and opportunity for people who are blind, Deafblind, or have low vision. She is also dedicated to broadening CNIB’s reach and role across Canada, supporting Canadians of every age and every experience of vision loss as they navigate and access their world with confidence and independence.
