The Toronto Ornithological Club (T.O.C.)  is sponsoring an outing in High Park for people who want to participate in this year's global Blind Birder Bird-a-Thon. This is a fun annual event where people who are blind or have low vision identify as many birds as they can by ear and report back. The T.O.C. will be providing guides and assistance in finding and identifying birds.

You can read about the Blind Birder Bird-a-Thon on the Birdability.org website. Note that you can participate in the bird-a-thon anywhere, on your own or with other people. But if you want to join the T.O.C. sponsored event, read on!

  • Date: Sunday, May 3
  • Time: 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
  • Location: We will meet at the High Park subway station. This station is fully accessible with elevators. We will walk a short distance to High Park, staying on sidewalks or trails that are accessible to the participants. An accessible washroom break will be scheduled.
