How Safe and Accessible Is Public Transit in Edmonton?  CNIB is inviting people who are blind, Deafblind, or have low vision who live in the Edmonton area to join us for a community discussion about their experiences using Edmonton Transit Service (ETS). We want to hear directly from riders about what's working well, what challenges they face, and what improvements would make public transit more accessible, safe, and easier to navigate.

Join us for a community discussion on Thursday, July 9 at 1 p.m., CNIB Edmonton. Light refreshments will be provided.

Registration required. To register, please complete the CNIB Auto Registration Form.

Your feedback will help ETS better understand the experiences of passengers who are blind, Deafblind, or have low vision. The information shared during the discussion will be kept anonymous and will contribute to a joint accessibility project between CNIB and ETS aimed at assessing transit accessibility and identifying opportunities for improvement.

If you ride ETS, we encourage you to reflect on your recent transit experiences before attending. Consider things such as trip planning, getting to and from stops or stations, boarding and exiting the vehicle, signage and announcements, and wayfinding.

Whether you ride transit every day or only occasionally, your perspective matters. By sharing your experiences and ideas, you can help shape a more accessible transit system for everyone. Thank you for taking the time to share your experiences and insights. Your feedback will help us identify opportunities to improve transit accessibility and support safer, more independent travel for people who are blind, Deafblind, or have low vision. Because everyone should be able to rely on public transit to travel safely, confidently, and independently.

If you have any questions, or if you would prefer to provide your feedback through an online survey or over the phone, please contact Taylor Bauer, Program Lead, Awareness & Community Outreach at taylor.bauer@cnib.ca or call 780-488-4871 ext. 6308.
