The Orientation & Mobility (O&M) / Guide Dog Immersion program is an intensive, weeklong, collaborative training program for applicants of CNIB Guide Dogs. Each day, participants will work one-on-one with Certified Orientation & Mobility Specialists (COMS) and Guide Dog Mobility Instructors (GDMI’s) to develop and refine the skills required to be successful guide dog handlers. Participants will have the opportunity to practice in real life settings with guide dogs at CNIB Lake Joe and in nearby downtown Parry Sound.
Important program points:
- Participants in this program must be a CNIB Guide Dog program applicant.
