Join CNIB for an Advocacy Hub in your community!
This interactive event is designed to connect people who are blind, Deafblind, or have low vision with CNIB services, accessible technology, advocacy resources, and one another.
The goal of a Phase 1 Advocacy Hub is to introduce CNIB to communities where services may be limited, help participants build skills and confidence, and learn directly from community members about the barriers and opportunities that exist locally.

- Registration: While registering for the Mobile Hub is strongly encouraged, walk-ins are also welcome. To register, please complete the CNIB Auto Registration Form or call 1-800-563-2642.
What to Expect
Advocacy & Community Discussion (60 Minutes)
Advocacy starts with understanding your rights, building confidence, and learning how to make your voice heard.
This session will be tailored to the needs and interests of participants and may include topics such as:
- Self-advocacy skills
- Know Your Rights resources
- Accessible transportation
- Health care accessibility
- Guide dog access rights
- Community accessibility issues
- Sharing local barriers and identifying opportunities for change
Participants will also have the opportunity to tell us about accessibility challenges in their community. This feedback helps CNIB identify future advocacy priorities and determine how we can best support your community moving forward.
CNIB Programs, Services & Peer Connections (30 Minutes)
Learn about the programs, services, and supports available through CNIB, while connecting with others who share similar lived experiences.
This session may include:
- Overview of CNIB programs and services
- Information on local and virtual opportunities
- Peer discussion and experience sharing
- Wellness and community connection activities
- Questions and answers with CNIB staff
SmartLife Technology Demonstration (60 Minutes)
Explore accessible technology designed to support independence at home, work, school, and in the community.
Participants will have the opportunity to:
- Learn about accessible devices and solutions
- Explore apps and technology for everyday living
- Ask questions and receive hands-on demonstrations
- Discover products available through SmartLife
Looking Ahead: Phase 2
Phase 1 Advocacy Hub is just the beginning. Based on the needs identified by participants, CNIB may return to the community with more specialized programming and supports, including:
- Community advocacy initiatives such as walkabouts, ride-alongs, or accessibility assessments
- Advocacy skill-building workshops such as letter writing, media training, or Know Your Rights education
- Technology training on topics such as iPhone accessibility, Meta Smart Glasses, and other assistive technology
- Opportunities to establish local peer support groups and ongoing community connections Your feedback will help shape what comes next.
This event is open to individuals who are blind, Deafblind, or have low vision, as well as family members, friends, caregivers, and anyone interested in learning more about CNIB services and supports. We look forward to meeting you and learning how we can support your community.
