Lions are Driving Change with the New Minibus

The summer season is off to a rolling start at CNIB Lake Joe, with the arrival of a new accessible minibus thanks to the incredible generosity of Lions Clubs International Foundation, Lions of District A12, MDA Lions and many, many friends.

Over the past couple of months, the new minibus has been the centre of attention at recent ribbon-cutting ceremonies at the MDA Lions Convention and the LionsThe back door of the new minibus. The door features a bright decal with abstract yellow bubble designs and photos of campers participating in archery and enjoying the lake. In the centre of the decal design is the text: “Generously donated by Lions Clubs International Foundation, Lions of District A12, MDA Lions and Friends” accompanied by the Lions Club International Fund logo, CNIB Lake Joe Logo, and a QR code. As the camp season kicks off, the minibus is doing exactly what it was meant to do: safely and comfortably transporting guests to and from camp.

We celebrated Canada Day in a quintessentially Canadian Way – by welcoming the Canadian Blind Hockey Association to camp! With the new minibus, guests who flew in from as far away as British Columbia were brought to camp feeling cool, comfortable and well-cared for. The minibus will also make it possible for them – and their big hockey bags – to get back and forth to the local arena each day.

“This minibus is more than just transportation - it’s a game-changer,” says Monique Pilkington, CNIB Executive Director. “We can’t thank the Lions enough. Thanks to you, our guests are arriving in style and with smiles!”
