On the shores of CNIB Lake Joe, friendship grows every summer. This year, our fully accessible camp celebrates 65 extraordinary seasons.
Over the past six and a half decades, thousands of campers have come to CNIB Lake Joe to connect with other people in the sight loss community, relax, have fun, and, perhaps most importantly, try things they’re so often told they can’t.
At Lake Joe, campers are encouraged to explore, connect, and just be themselves. Thanks to you, they have an inclusive and welcoming place to learn what they’re truly capable of. Where the rest of the world might say ‘no,’ for 65 years, Lake Joe has been saying ‘yes.’
And at 65, we’re just getting started! New programs this year, including the Young Adult Arts Intensive and Family Camping Week, mean even more Canadians can experience the magic of CNIB Lake Joe for generations to come. It’s all thanks to your generosity.

Stories from campers capture Lake Joe’s spirit perfectly…
“Lake Joe is my happy place; when I’m here I feel at peace...I’ve never felt so welcomed and safe. Thank you to all that make this experience possible.”
“I met my wife at Lake Joe eight years ago and this was our first year attending as a married couple. This was our honeymoon.”
“...At camp I don’t have to pretend that I’m not someone with vision loss and I can just be myself!”
