With generous funding from the New Brunswick Law Foundation and The Law Foundation of Ontario’s Access to Justice Fund, CNIB has developed Know Your Rights – New Brunswick, a project that is designed to empower New Brunswickers who are blind, partially sighted or Deafblind to better understand their rights, navigate the New Brunswick legal system and self-advocate to challenge discrimination.
Know Your Rights – New Brunswick is based on the Ontario pilot project developed in 2019 and funded by the Law Foundation of Ontario. While based upon the Ontario pilot, great care has been taken (through focus groups and consultations) to ensure that Know Your Rights – New Brunswick is specific to the barriers that New Brunswickers who are blind, partially-sighted and Deafblind face on a day-to-day basis.
