A CNIB volunteer with a happy client

Join the Team

Ready to take on a volunteering role with the CNIB Foundation? We can't wait to have you!

To become a volunteer, complete this Volunteer Interest Form so we can get in touch with you!

Your local volunteer program lead will get back to you shortly; walk you through the screening and training process; and help you find the role that will be most rewarding and impactful for you.

Requirements: keeping everyone safe
Here are a few requirements we've put in place to ensure both you and any participants and staff you may work with are well-trained and safe:

  • The minimum age to volunteer at the CNIB Foundation is 14. Volunteers who work with participants (i.e., the people with sight loss we serve), participant information or cash must be 18 or older.
  • All volunteers will be asked to fill out an application form before starting their role.
  • Volunteers taking on long-term roles will be asked to come in for an interview, orientation and training. In addition, if you interact directly with our participants in your volunteering role, you'll undergo further screening, including a police record check, vulnerable sector check and reference checks.
  • Volunteers agree to abide by our Volunteer Code of Conduct. It outlines what you can expect from the CNIB Foundation, and what the CNIB Foundation expects from you.
