The Ottawa Adult Blind Hockey Team is hitting the ice again! Open to adults who are blind or partially sighted in Ottawa and the surrounding region, this program is the perfect chance to learn, play, and connect through Canada’s favourite sport.
Blind Hockey is played across Canada by athletes who are blind or partially sighted who have approximately 10% vision or less. The sport uses an adapted puck that makes noise and is larger than a traditional puck. No skating or hockey experience is required and Canadian Blind Hockey can help provide equipment if needed.
Sighted siblings, parents, and family members with hockey or skating experience are encouraged to get involved as volunteer coaches and mentors, making it a supportive and inclusive community for everyone.
The Ottawa Adult Blind Hockey Team meets every Saturday (October 25, 2025 to March 14, 2026) from 1 to 2 p.m. at the McNabb Community Centre (180 Percy Street, Ottawa. K1R 6E5).
The registration fee for the 2025-2026 Season is $400. Financial assistance is available. Canadian Blind Hockey does not want finances to be a barrier for anyone who is blind or partially sighted to participate in Canada’s National Winter Sport.
