Chances are, you’ve had something important interrupted in the last few weeks. People across the country and around the world have had to postpone weddings, travel and other important events. One thing that can’t stop, though, is guide dog training. Every minute of training a future guide dog receives as a pup is critical to its success. We have had to adapt our training, keeping the dogs and trainers safe, but the CNIB Guide Dog program continues, even when it seems like everything else has stopped.
The best way to support these pups and future guide dogs, right now, is to become a monthly donor. It’s quick, easy and you’ll feel very glad you did it.
CNIB recently unveiled the brand-new Barrie Community Hub and Nanji Family Foundation CNIB SmartLife Centre, thanks to a generous donations made by the Nanji Family Foundation and the Ontario Trillium Foundation. The new Hub, which is now open to members of the public, is an inclusive community space designed to empower people impacted by blindness to live the lives they choose.
The search for a new location for the CNIB GTA Community Hub is now underway, and we’re hosting two virtual consultations in July to hear what matters most to our community. We want your input and ideas on location, transportation, accessibility, space layout, programming, and the features that would make the future home of the Hub a welcoming and inclusive community space.
