To enhance CNIB’s Culture, Sport & Recreation program offerings, we’ve partnered with SPIRIT Club, an online health and fitness platform that provides adapted exercise and healthy lifestyle classes.
SPIRIT Club strives to foster a culture of support and encouragement for all members. Whether you’re experienced with exercise or a total beginner; comfortable in gyms or don’t feel like they are the right fit for you, SPIRIT Club is where you can successfully work toward your fitness goals.


The Vision Mate program is CNIB's flagship initiative for one-on-one support. Vision Mate volunteers are matched up with a person who is blind or partially sighted to provide one-on-one sighted assistance and companionship.


This program is designed for those who are looking to challenge themselves, learn new skills, make new connections and show the power of their human potential!


The EmpowerPlay newsletter is an Ontario-wide sports and physical activity resource; designed to provide you with information and opportunities. This may include CNIB programs, a community program or activity, a video or audio piece of information to educate and empower; and more!

Accessible yoga for most skill levels from the comfort of your home. Check out accessible yoga if you are looking for a classic yoga class with descriptive prompts. Designed for people with vision loss, the instructor will verbally walk you through all the poses and movements. Please bring a yoga mat, a bottle of water, and your breath!


Parents of Children between the ages of three and six are invited to sign their little ones up for this exciting program that combines socialization, creative play and entertainment! Fall 2022 sessions will take an educational approach while remaining fun and interactive. Our professional facilitator will assist participating children to explore the landscape of our community through song, story and sound. Chair yoga is a good option for anyone with injuries or with mobility issues. You will need comfortable clothing and a sturdy chair without arms or armrests for this class. Techniques include breath work, gentle movement with repetition, postures, sitting meditation and relaxation. No experience required.


Children of all ages across the country are welcome to participate in our live reading series Read Aloud to Me. Join us as experienced volunteers give life to picture books, chapter books and short stories.

Join us at the CNIB Kingston Hub for a monthly social games youth group! Play games, chat, enjoy snacks and make new connections with other youth from the region who have sight loss. This program is offered to youth between the ages of 12-18 in the Kingston area. Some braille knowledge is an asset. This youth group meets in-person at the CNIB Kingston Hub on the first Tuesday of every month from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Eastern.


Build a resume that employers will actually read! You will learn how to create a CV structure that works, how to read the CV from an employer’s perspective, how to value your own experiences, and how to build your professional profile. Following this workshop, you will understand how to effectively improve your CV once and for all, which will in turn increase your confidence and help you present yourself in a valued way!


If you love books, this group is for you! This group features guest authors as well as weeks where a different genre or theme are picked. People read their choice of book on the theme and come ready to discuss. It's a great way to build your reading list and learn about what others are reading and the technology they use to access their books. This 6-week series focuses on what we "can" do and more specifically how to go about it. We can all face frustrations and encounter things that seem impossible, out of reach or just too daunting to even attempt. But that doesn't mean they can't be done! At Never Say Never, every week we'll present two common "frustrations" we all face and, as a group, we'll problem solve them.

Thanks to our friends at SenseTech, we have developed an application that will coach you through interview skills. This app that runs on both iOS and Android uses AI technology to take you through four separate interviews and give you a score based on the answers you provide to the application as well as give you written feedback. This is the perfect tool to use as you prepare to shine in your next interview!


The hosts of the call gather interesting topics from a wide range of applications and devices to bring them to the forefront of CNIB clients. From time to time, guests come live and chat with the group about new emerging technologies that promise to enhance the lives of people with sight loss. This class is designed for all level yogis. Relaxed pace to release anxiety and calm the body. Students will be guided into meditation, breathing techniques, yoga poses and relaxation. Please bring a yoga mat, a blanket, a big towel and an open mind to learn something new!


Are you new to assistive technology? Want to get more out of your smart device or computer? This Zoom workshop is a 2 for 1! This drop-in workshop offers a short learning module on an Assistive Technology topic, followed by a tech-focused Q&A session afterwards. Come prepared to swap tips and tricks and strengthen your own tech skills in the process.


When learning how to be a strong and effective advocate, the first step is to be empowered. The CNIB advocacy team presents an an eight-week series dedicated to empowering participants! Join host Bernard Akuoko as he speaks with experts in a variety of areas, such as sports and recreation, technology, employment and volunteering, social media, lifelong learning, and so much more. A support group for blind/partially sighted parents. From infancy to adulthood - blind mothers and fathers can learn, explore, and share their triumphs, challenges, tips and stories among peers in a supportive environment. The group meets twice monthly in order to accommodate busy schedules.


Sight loss does not only affect the individual, but it also affects the family and loved ones. In this peer support program, we help the family and loved ones understand the journey of vision loss and how to support the independence of their friend and loved one.


This is a virtual group that gets together every Thursday morning for a general group conversation. There is no planned topic of conversation but it is kept positive and light!
