Our tech programs include introductions to new, accessible technology options like smartphone apps and the latest devices for people with varying degrees of sight loss. CNIB SmartLife: Computer Keyboard Coaching

Mastery of the computer keyboard is essential for anyone using a computer, especially for someone using a screen reader. With this in mind, we are now offering weekly keyboarding coaching sessions at the CNIB Community Hub on Thursday's.

Like it or not, technology is becoming a big part of modern life. Nowadays, people rely on computers and smartphones for work, school, entertainment and connection. For people with vision loss, assistive technology offers all of this as well as increased confidence and independence. Join us over Zoom for Intro to Assistive Technology - find out what is possible and how we at CNIB can help you harness the power of assistive technology. This group meets on the second Tuesday of every month from 12 to 1:30 p.m. Pacific Time on Zoom.

CNIB SmartLife: Introducing Case for Vision (Toronto)

Case for Vision is an iPhone 15 Pro case with a twist: it has legs that fold out so you can put it on a desk and use it as a stand magnifier, and an angled lens you can point at a wall to zoom in on whiteboards or anything else at a distance. Case for Vision also does a great job protecting your phone, too. The Case for Vision (Toronto) workshop happens Wednesday, November 13 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the CNIB GTA Community Hub.

Repair Café Toronto – November

At the CNIB Repair Café, the skilled fixers will be on hand to repair a variety of items, with a special focus on The primary focus on repairing accessibility devices such as Perkins braillers, white canes, electronic magnifiers, talking and braille watches, and sewing-related repairs. Saturday, November 16 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the CNIB GTA Community Hub.
