Why It Matters
One unforgettable night. Life-changing impact.
Lake Joe Live is more than a night of great food and live music. It's an opportunity to help children who are blind discover confidence, independence, friendship, and belonging on the shores of CNIB Lake Joe.
This year, Lake Joe Live aims to raise $400,000, helping 160 children attend a life-changing week at Lake Joe next summer. Thanks to donor support, families pay just $250 for their child to enjoy a week of camp that would otherwise cost significantly more.
A camp built on “yes”
Children who are blind, Deafblind, or have low vision may hear “no” too often. No, you shouldn’t try that activity. No, you can’t do that on your own.
At Lake Joe, children hear "yes."
Yes to climbing. Yes to boating. Yes to trying something new. Yes to discovering they're capable of more than they imagined.
Whether it's climbing a rock wall, sailing across the lake, swimming, creating art, playing sports, or performing in a talent show, Lake Joe is a place where possibilities expand and confidence grows.
In a fully accessible environment designed for people who are blind, Deafblind, or have low vision, children can focus less on barriers and more on new experiences, new skills, and new adventures.
65 years and countless stories
On the shores of CNIB Lake Joe, friendship grows every summer. This year, our fully accessible camp celebrates 65 extraordinary seasons.
Thousands of campers who are blind, Deafblind, or have low vision have come to Lake Joe to make friends, take on new challenges, and experience adventures they can't find anywhere else. For generations, Lake Joe has been a place where confidence grows, barriers fall away, and lifelong memories are made.
And the story is still being written. Support from donors helps fund programs, experiences, and opportunities that allow even more campers to grow, thrive, and discover what's possible in the years ahead.
When I first arrived at CNIB Lake Joe, it gave me a feeling of comfort and inclusion. I just felt really happy there. I think it's better than Disneyland!
