CALGARY, November 15, 2022 – CNIB, Canada’s largest non-profit supporting people who are blind or partially sighted, has been selected as one of 12 finalists for the iA Financial Group philanthropic contest! The Canada-wide philanthropic contest awards a donation of $100,000 to the four charities that receive the most votes. The remaining eight charities will each receive $10,000.
“We are thrilled that iA Financial Group chose our submission! If selected, the $100,000 donation would go towards supporting accessible technology education for students who are blind or partially sighted in Western Canada – providing participants, parents and teachers alike with access to resources, supportive technologies, and training,” says Ashlee Rolheiser, Manager of Philanthropy, CNIB. “Children are the leaders of tomorrow, and this remarkable donation would help provide our young leaders with access to the adequate supports they require to keep up with their classmates and succeed in school to build independence, future employment skills, and a better quality of life. We invite people to vote!”
The public is invited to go to donations-contest.ia.ca and vote for the submission they find the most inspiring in each market from among the twelve finalist submissions. Winners will be announced in early December. Contest details are available at ia.ca/contest-ia-donations.
