CNIB Guide Dogs announces future home of Puppy Development Centre, unveils sign
(GEORGINA, ON – September 25, 2023) – Today, CNIB Guide Dogs unveiled the new site of its first-ever puppy development centre in the Town of Georgina.
Since launching in 2017, CNIB Guide Dogs has quickly become a leader in the guide dog community. As part of the program's expansion, CNIB Guide Dogs has purchased three acres of land in the Town of Georgina on Lake Simcoe, where they’ll build the Howard & Delores Beck Puppy Development Centre.

Get on board with accessible public transit
Join us in an undercover mission to improve public transit systems!
As part of CNIB's commitment to Safe and Accessible Journeys under our new strategic plan, we are launching an advocacy campaign focused on the need for accessible public transit. The "Get on Board" transit campaign runs from October 2-13, 2023, across 13 municipalities in Canada. Campaign activities involve a secret rider survey and a Town Hall discussion of our findings, including recommendations to enhance accessibility on our transit systems.

Resource Development Assistant, Accessible Technology
CNIB's Accessible Technology Program aims to support the technology needs of program participants. With the availability of a wide range of accessible technologies, people with sight loss can accomplish almost any task, provided they have the right device, and the right support! Through our continuous development of Accessible Technology resources, materials and curriculum, we are able to provide our participants with the information they need to use their accessible technology effectively. With our efforts of providing the best support possible, we are seeking volunteers to assist with research & development of a complete Accessible Technology resource kit.

CNIB's Accessible Technology Program aims to support the technology needs of program participants. Through our monthly Accessible Technology group program offerings, we provide a range of in-person & webinar-based workshops on a variety of technology-based topics. Some topics include accessibility features on smartphones, common social media apps, MS Word basics, and much more! With our efforts of providing the best support possible, we are seeking volunteers to assist with our monthly group program offerings.
