Mastery of the computer keyboard is essential for anyone using a computer, especially for someone using a screen reader. With this in mind, we are now offering weekly keyboarding coaching sessions at the CNIB Community Hub.

How it works:

We will have 1 dedicated workstation available for people interested in improving their keyboarding skills. Sessions are offered every Thursday by appointment only at 11 AM, 1 PM and 3 PM. Sessions are 1 hour in length.

Prior to your first visit, we will reach out to you to discuss your keyboarding goals and to setup your first appointment. The computer you will be using is equipped with ZoomText, JAWS and a keyboarding program called TypeAbility. TypeAbility is a speech-based keyboarding tutor that guides you through a variety of lessons to help improve your keyboarding knowledge, accuracy & speed. TypeAbility provides progress reports to help track your improvement as you learn.

The keyboarding program is offered in-person at the CNIB GTA Community Hub (1525 Yonge Street, Toronto) by appointment only.

To register, please complete the CNIB Auto Registration Form.
