Get ready to celebrate Braille Literacy Month with CNIB's annual Braille Art Competition!

2025 marks 200 years of braille so we are opening this year’s competition to ALL AGES. Don’t use braille regularly? Curious about braille but have never had the chance to learn? Celebrate the importance of braille literacy by entering the contest! The contest begins on World Braille Day (January 4) and ends on January 31, 2025. We are looking for tactile, fun and creative artworks which feature braille. Show us your craftiest creations!

Competition Categories

Category 1 – Braille your name: Make your name in braille in the most creative way possible. Anything goes. Be as creative as you like, Remember, you can use all kinds of objects to represent braille dots! Whatever you use to represent the braille dots should have texture or a tactile feature.

Category 2 – Change and Adapt:  Show us items that can be changed and adapted into something else, the changing seasons, or how recycled materials can be reclaimed for artwork. And remember, this is a tactile and braille art competition, so please be sure your entry features both.

How to Enter
  • Send a high resolution .jpeg format photograph of your artwork to karen.brophey@cnib.ca. The deadline is midnight on January 31, 2025.
