Change Contrast

Our goal is to make the information on CNIB.ca available to everyone. Different contrast options can increase legibility for some users by heightening screen contrast with alternative color combinations or by softening the look of the site.
 
Whether you have low vision, colour blindness or are in need of enlarged text or high contrast layouts, we strive to give you the tools and tips necessary to access information on CNIB.ca and the internet.

On this website

You can change the settings on the CNIB.ca website to suit your preferences. If you have cookies enabled, these settings will be remembered each time you visit.
 
To change the contrast, use the "Change Contrast" link at the top of the page. You will be able to choose from these options:
  • Default contrast
  • High contrast (graphic)
    Black background with white text. Other enhancements include title bars being in yellow with black text. All links are presented in a high visibility yellow and all features sections offer bright backgrounds and dark text. 

On your computer

There are a variety of options you can follow to increase the contrast on your computer. These include:
  • Closing blinds/ curtains to reduce glare
  • Changing display settings in the display / accessibility options to have a dark background
  • Changing colours in web pages to your own preferences.

To Turn on High Contrast in Windows 7:

  1. Open Ease of Access Center. To open Ease of Access Center, click Start, click Control Panel, and then click Ease of Access Center. 
  2. Click "Make the computer easier to see." Under High Contrast, check "Turn on or off High Contrast when ALT + left SHIFT + PRINT SCREEN is pressed."
