2010 CNIB Summer Camps

CNIB is pleased to offer camps where children, youth and families can gain life skills, confidence and enjoy spending time together. This year the camps will once again be held at Bowen Lodge.

After careful consideration of costs and limitations on the property’s use, CNIB has decided to sell Bowen Lodge. This difficult decision was reached after study of the investment required to bring the facility up to modern, accessible standards and consultation with our Board and camp donors. CNIB remains committed to providing the highest level of service to our clients, including camp programs. For 2010, camps will be held at Bowen Lodge as follows:

Braille Literacy Camp: July 4 – 10

  • For children with vision loss between eight and 12 years of age.

Teen Technology/Transition: July 13-19

  • For teens with vision loss between 13 and 19 years of age.

Independent Living Skills/Recreation: July 28 – August 3

  • For children with vision loss between eight and 14 years of age.

*Family Camp: Dates to be announced shortly

  • For children of all ages who are blind or partially sighted and their families

These camps are offered in partnership with Set-BC, PRCVI, Aroga Group, Ministry of Social Housing and Development, Canwest Raise-A-Reader.

We thank all supporters and donors who have helped make these programs possible.
