The CNIB Library provides music reference services to Canadians with vision loss - including professional and amateur musicians, teachers, students and music lovers. Since it is next to impossible for these musicians to acquire a large personal library of braille music materials, as few sources exist, the CNIB Library offers them an invaluable resource - one of the most extensive braille music collections in the world. The collection comprises scores for all types of instruments and braille books on music - including histories, biographies, theory textbooks, opera librettos, etc., as well as a unique collection of instructional manuals on the subject of the braille music code, and a number of audio instructional courses which teach a variety of instruments.
