Tuck MacPhee Award

Overview:

The CNIB Barbara Tuck MacPhee Award supports researchers in the field of macular degeneration.

Amount of Award:

The Tuck-MacPhee Award provides a one-year grant of up to $35,000. Projects should be completed within 12 months. Funds that are unused after 24 months must be returned unless a special request for continuance is approved. Equipment costs will not generally be covered, but in certain circumstances equipment may be funded on the basis of matching funds from the host facility.

Eligibility:

This competition is open to all researchers; however applicants must be residents of Canada and research must be conducted primarily in Canada. Trainees (residents, fellows, post graduate students) are not eligible to apply.

Reporting:

The investigator will provide CNIB with a progress report six months following the start up of the grant. A second report including a copy of relevant findings of the research is required at the end of the research and prior to releasing the final quarterly payment. All publications and presentations of this research must acknowledge the support of the CNIB Baker Tuck MacPhee Fund.

Deadlines:

Applicants must apply online no later than January 15 of each year. The application will be reviewed by a multi-disciplinary review committee, and decisions will be finalized by April 1.
