Rob Gaunt

Rob Gaunt – For the past four years Rob has represented the Canadian Cancer Society - Northwest Region, at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Science Centre, as the Volunteer Resource Coordinator, and CCS liaison with the Regional Cancer Care Program. Within this portfolio, he also serves as a representative on the TBRHSC Accessibility Advisory Team, and the CCS Accessibility Resource Team, supporting the development and review of policies, practices, guidelines & resources that will ensure compliance with AODA standards for both organizations.
While living in Thunder Bay for the past 11 years, Rob also achieved his 1st Dan – Black Belt and Instructor Certification in Chon-Tu Kwan (Combat) Hap-Ki-Do and taught at the Leading Edge Gym for three years.
Prior to moving to Thunder Bay in 1998, Rob graduated from the University of Guelph with an H.B.A. in Psychology & Family Studies. Rob also participated as an internationally competitive athlete for more than 13 years competing in two Paralympic Games and several World Championships in both Goalball & Powerlifting.
Rob’s previous volunteer experience includes; powerlifting coach, martial arts & self defense instruction, crisis intervention, board member & leadership volunteer.
