Opportunities in Ontario
Administration:
Assist staff with administrative duties including filing, computer work, mailings and other special projects.
Ambassador:
Provide information to the public and represent CNIB at a variety of functions, displays and events. You enjoy public speaking, have experienced vision loss, are close to someone who lives with vision loss, or are a supporter of CNIB and familiar with our life-changing programs and services. Flexible hours.
Fundraising/Special Events Volunteers:
You can be involved in a variety of short-term projects throughout the year. Volunteers assist with event planning and preparation, and help out the day of the event.
Library Volunteers
Produce Braille or audio books at our national library in Toronto. Click here for more information on volunteering at the library.
Shop CNIB:
Provide sales and/or inventory assistance to customers shopping for products to assist with everyday living. From magnifiers to talking watches, our shops are full of high and low-tech devices to help people who are blind or partially sighted. All shifts are weekdays, during the day.
Vision Mate:
Provide sighted assistance to a person who is blind or partially sighted. Activities may include reading, computer assistance, shopping, recreation assistance, community access, going for walks and friendly visiting. Vision Mates volunteer in their own neighbourhood, on days and times that are convenient for them (including evenings and weekends).
