Dana Blais, Specialist, Intervention

How long have you worked in Deafblind Services?

"23 years.

Why did you get into the field?

"When I was attending Sheridan College for the Interpreter Program, I was introduced to a Deafblind individual. I found them fascinating which in turn made me more intrigued in finding more information on Deafblindness. Since being in the field, I get satisfaction knowing that my clients accomplish their goals independently."

What would you like people to know about Deafblindness?

"I would like for the public to be aware of Deafblindness, since many people are not aware of this unique disability. There may be people who may know someone or are themselves DB who qualify for services but do not know it is available to them."
