Call for Applicants for New Employment Program

Are you a blind or partially sighted job seeker?

CNIB is in the early stages of launching an internship/returnship career growth program working with partner employers to create paid work-place opportunities.

We are seeking applicants to help us build a talent pool of candidates to screen and select for future opportunities.

The program is open to all experience levels. Whether you’re transitioning from school to the world of work, a seasoned professional looking to make a change or someone looking to re-enter the workforce; we are looking to build a diverse talent pool.

To be considered for the program, please submit:

  • A resume
  • A letter of application highlighting your skills, career goals and what industry you would like to work in (ex: financial, education, technology, healthcare, mass media/communications, marketing, administrative, hospitality, etc.) And mention how you learned of this opportunity.

Please send completed applications to career.support@cnib.ca and include your city and quote “internship” in the subject line.

Electronic submissions are preferred, although we will accept mailed applications addressed to:

CNIB Ontario GTA Leadership

Angela Bonfanti, CNIB Ontario GTA Executive Director

Angela Bonfanti (333x500).jpgAngela Bonfanti is the Executive Director for the CNIB Ontario Foundation in the Greater Toronto Area, as well as the Head of National Government Relations for CNIB. Angela first walked through the doors of CNIB as a child, accompanying her father who has been blind most of his life. She joined our staff after nearly a decade of working for the federal government as a political staffer with the Liberals. She started her career at CNIB as the National Director for Stewardship and Donor Engagement before she was seconded to assist with the development and implementation of CNIB’s strategic plan – The Path to Change. Angela led a number of efforts which helped CNIB to achieve key milestones in the strategic plan, including the development and endorsement of the Canadian Patient Charter for Vision Care and the Comprehensive Vision Rehabilitation Model of Care. Most recently, Angela was the National Director of CNIB’s newly developed Strategic Relations and Engagement department and helped to lead CNIB’s first country-wide federal election strategy which has led to significant movement in a number of federal initiatives. In her new role, the Charity will benefit from Angela’s extensive professional and personal experience in campaign volunteering and management. Her understanding of government will also be tapped as we advocate for changes from the City of Toronto and the provincial government.
