CNIB is active in every region of Ontario, with staff and volunteers travelling to provide support to people in the community and rural areas.

What’s New:

  • Celebrating White Cane Week at the National Gallery of Canada
    February 6 – 12, 2010

    To celebrate White Cane Week and another successful year in partnership with the Canadian Council of the Blind, the National Gallery of Canada is offering a series of specially designed half-day Master Workshops that are adapted for individuals who are blind, deaf-blind or who are partially sighted. The series provides greater access to the National Gallery’s collection, promotes art literacy and develops hands-on art making skills. Participants will explore the National Gallery’s permanent collection while using senses other than sight.

    Célébrez la Semaine de la canne blanche au Musée des beaux-arts du Canada
    Du 6 au 12 février 2010

    Afin de célébrer la Semaine de la canne blanche et une autre année couronnée de succès en collaboration avec le Conseil canadien des aveugles, le Musée des beaux-arts du Canada est heureux de vous offrir une série d’Ateliers de maître. Ces ateliers d’une demi-journée, spécialement conçus et adaptés pour les personnes aveugles, les personnes aveugles et sourdes et les personnes malvoyantes permettent une plus grande accessibilité à la collection du Musée, tout en favorisant une meilleure connaissance des arts ainsi qu’un apprentissage des techniques pratiquées par les artistes. Les participants exploreront la collection permanente du Musée tout en utilisant des sens autres que la vue.

    Gratuit. Il est nécessaire de s’inscrire au moins deux semaines à l’avance, par téléphone au 613-998-888, ou par courriel à reservations@beaux-arts.ca.

  • Envisioning the Future: New Developments in Vision Science

    This half-day session, includes: presentations given by leaders at the cutting edge of vision science research, a tour of CNIB’s fully accessible facility, and an introduction to CNIB programs and services.

    The session qualifies as three hours of continuing education accreditation.
