Ellen Johnson - Bridgewater, NS
Diagnosed with Stargardt’s disease 
as a child, Ellen Johnson knew she would face certain challenges in her life because of her vision loss.
By fifth grade, Ellen had trouble seeing the board and in eighth grade, she could no longer read regular print.

Craig Aucoin - Pictou, NS
Craig Aucoin has participated in seven
triathlons and is currently training to ride across Canada on a tandem bicycle with his good friend and personal trainer, Lloyd McLean. Craig is looking to raise funds and awareness for CNIB and two other charities that have played an important role in his personal development.
Twenty years ago, this would have been unthinkable for Craig. Diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa, his eyesight became progressively worse in his mid teens.

Michael Carter - Cape Breton, NS
Michael Carter is looking forward to
another summer on the lake - either lake Joe in the Muskoka region of Ontario or the Bras d'Or Lakes in Cape Breton.
The 28-year-old from St. Peter's, Cape Breton, enjoys spending time with his father at the cabin and boating on the Bras d'Or Lakes.

Pat Gates - Halifax, NS
Imagine being a prisoner in your home: too afraid to venture outside and not having the support or encouragement to make any sort of change. For Pat Gates, such a scenario dominated her life for 10 years as she lived in isolation while coping with glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy – two eye conditions that have left her with very little vision since 2000.

Brian MacLeod - Truro, NS
Since Brian MacLeod lost his sight nearly 25 years ago, he has achieved some monumental accomplishments that many people can only dream of! The Truro resident is one of the best blind golfers in the world, winning the Canadian Blind Open three times, the US Blind Open twice, and the Italian Blind Open and Australia Blind Open once. He also ranked second place in the World Blind Open twice.
