Kanata’s Lucas Haneman is Named The i Factor Winner for 2010!
August 8, 2010 (Toronto, ON) -- CNIB is pleased to
announce that Lucas Haneman (Kanata, ON) has been named The i Factor
winner for 2010. Lucas won over his fellow contestants, the judges and
the crowd with his tremendous guitar talent at the August 7th finale at
the CNIB Lake Joseph Centre. The top three finalists were Lucas, Jesse
Martin (Winnipeg, MB) and François Morin (Sherbrooke, QC). Thank you to
our fantastic host Mike Bullard and our incredible judges Farley Flex,
Terry Kelly and Shirley Eikhard.
The top ten contestants each performed a two minute set after which
they were provided with comments from our celebrity judges. They were
also given the chance to banter with emcee Mike Bullard who kept
everyone entertained the whole evening. It was an inspiring evening of
performance.
The talent on display was out of this world and moved the audience to
stand on their feet and cheer by the end of the night. The energy in
the room was electric.
The August 7 finale was the culmination of several days of
preparation and training for the contestants who were tutored in vocals,
stage presence, and overall performance. Judge Farley Flex gave his
time to mentor all contestants and Terry Kelly also shared his wisdom.
It was a life changing weekend for everyone involved.
Our talented guitar virtuoso and The i Factor winner Lucas will be
lucky enough to open for Terry Kelly at an upcoming Canadian date.
CNIB president and CEO John Rafferty was on hand to welcome the crowd
and present the first annual Joe Finley Award of Excellence to Lucas
Haneman. Joe Finley last year was the inspiration behind the first The i
Factor event. His wife Cara and daughter were there to meet all
contestants and share the prize with Lucas. John thanked The i Factor
sponsors: WestJet Cares for Kids; Lions Club; Elemental; The Accessible
Channel (TAC TV); Muskoka Cottage Brewery; Winners Merchants
International.
