Vision Mate Program

CNIB is looking for Vision Mate’s province-wide

As a vision mate, you will provide regular one-on-one assistance and companionship for a person who is blind or partially sighted. For two hours a week, you would:

  • Visit a client in his/her home or other suitable environment at a mutually convenient time

  • Provide help with reading, organizing, walking, and assisting with errands; activities are mutually agreed upon, based on client need

  • Volunteers are not expected to drive. Preferably, all outings would be on foot, by public transportation, taxi or other assisted transportation; paid for by the client. However, exceptions can be made at the discretion of the Coordinator of Volunteer Services, but only when it is in the best interest of the client
