CNIB thanks the Dakota Dunes Community Development Corporation for supporting CNIB’s Aboriginal Telehealth program in the Winter of 2017!  This 8 week Program is for isolated, aboriginal persons adjusting to vision loss in rural Saskatchewan. CNIB staff will facilitate and teach appropriate skills and techniques required for vision rehabilitation (Advocacy, Orientation and Mobility, Daily Living Skills). This programs allows us to reach out to clients in remote reserves around the province through Clients will meet at telehealth site for weekly lessons and receive follow up services from CNIB. Telehealth is used to link people to health care at a distance via satellite. It is located at health centers and hospitals across the province.

The Dakota Dunes Community Development Corporation’s mandate is to distribute twenty-five percent of the net profits generated from the Dakota Dunes Casino on a fair and equitable basis to First Nation and non-First Nation charitable organizations and groups within a 75 kilometre radius from the Whitecap Dakota First Nation.
