Dear volunteers and vendors for CNIB Hamfest 2009;
On behalf of the CNIB Amateur Radio Program I wish to express our profound thanks for all the support and hard work you have provided in making our second annual flea market a success. Your partnership in this event will provide an opportunity for those with vision loss to enjoy the hobby of Amateur Radio with most of us.
Without your help, we would not have been able to achieve this level of success.
The proceeds will help us do the following:
- Provide training materials in a variety of formats for people with vision loss, including DAISY (Digitally Accessible Information System), Braille, audio and electronic text;
- Provide training services through qualified Radio Amateur helpers located in the candidate’s community;
- Prepare candidates for the license examination;
- Provide free loan radios to those in financial need; and
- Make affordable equipment available by lease or sale
