The Canadian Patient Charter for Vision Care

Through research and firsthand interviews with our clients, we found serious gaps in both the awareness about vision health and the experience patients have while progressing through vision loss.

These gaps have prompted the Canadian Ophthalmological Society, the Canadian Association of Optometrists, the Opticians Association of Canada, and community organizations to come together with CNIB to ensure that every Canadian receives high-quality, seamless care.

This commitment is symbolized by the signing of the Canadian Patient Charter for Vision Care, the first step on the journey to improve the patient experience.  This is the first time CNIB and Canada’s leaders in eye health have come together to make a shared commitment to providing optimum patient-centered care across all stages of the vision loss journey – from prevention to diagnosis to treatment and rehabilitation.
