CNIB: Read Book Club

Event Type
Culture, Sport & Recreation Programs

Books at your fingertips, between your ears. Stories are how we understand our world. They educate, provide an escape, kindle our imagination, and give us a better understanding of the human experience.
CNIB: Read is a virtual book club for anyone interested in accessible literacy. Housed on Facebook, the club gives members an interactive community where they can read together, swap notes and perspectives on what they've read, and talk about all things books – from their favourite writers to the latest accessible reading technologies on the market.
Join an online community of readers!

  • Get social with the Facebook Group, CNIB: Read
  • Visit us online at
  • Listen to the CNIB: Read podcast. Released about every two weeks, it gives listeners exclusive audio content related to the featured book – from interviews with book authors and audiobook narrators, to conversations with experts in the field of publishing.

Calling all Science Fiction readers!

We're organizing informal interviews and roundtable discussions to be recorded for our new CNIB: Read podcasts. Our next featured book is a science fiction title! We are especially looking for readers interested in discussing:

  • Dystopias
  • Hard Science Fiction
  • Space Operas
  • Fantasy
  • Time Travel and Multidimensional Universes
  • Alternative Histories

Interviews and discussions will take place in the Recording Studios at CNIB Centre (1929 Bayview) over the summer - so you must be willing to travel to Toronto. Dates and times to be determined.
