Ambassador:

Ambassadors give presentations and staff information tables to educate the public about vision loss, promote vision health, and enhance awareness of CNIB and our services. The ideal candidate for this position is someone who has received service from CNIB, is a family member of someone who has received service, or is a dedicated CNIB supporter - volunteer or donor - who can speak passionately about how CNIB changes lives. You are comfortable speaking in front of audiences, including seniors, corporate groups, students, community groups, and vision health professionals. This is very flexible, and may include weekdays, weekends and evenings, depending on the engagement.

Vision Mate:

In a one-on-one, long term match, provide sighted assistance to a person who is blind or partially sighted. Activities may include reading, computer assistance, shopping, recreation assistance, community access, going for walks and friendly visiting. Vision Mates make a difference in their own neighbourhood and set their own schedule (evenings and weekends are fine).

Office Assistant:

Support CNIB with duties such as reception, filing, making phone calls, photocopying, assisting with mail-outs, data entry and word processing tasks.

Shop CNIB:

Provide sales and/or inventory assistance to customers shopping for products to assist with everyday living. From magnifiers to talking watches, our shops are full of high and low-tech devices to help people who are blind or partially sighted. All shifts are weekdays, during the day.

Please note:

We do not record audio books in BC. The recording studios are in Toronto and Montreal.
