Former NHL star Theo Fleury will share his candid personal story, described in his recent autobiography, “Playing with Fire”. See for yourself why Canadians have found him to be the embodiment of determination, persistence and a “can do” attitude, summed up in the words he lives by: “Don’t Quit Before the Miracle.”
Join CNIB’s efforts to help British Columbians with vision loss.
Your support of the Vancouver Visions Lunch helps provide important services benefiting people who are blind or partially sighted. These services include counseling, mobility and independent life skills training, accessible library, and other important CNIB programs and services.
- Peer Counseling – A friendly voice and understanding ear is just a phone call away! CNIB’s peer counseling program is a volunteer service available in some communities that encourages people newly experiencing vision loss to connect via telephone to peers in their community who are also living with vision loss. These peer counselors are trained to be empathetic listeners and to help clients adjust to their new circumstances. Contact your local CNIB office to find out if this program is available in your community.
